PERSONALITY:
Grell is a very confusing person. He seems to have two distinct sides
of his personality. On one, he's forward, the very definition of
flamboyant, completely flirtatious (with both genders, mind you),
dramatic, and narcissitic. On the other, he's slightly naive,
thoughtful, somewhat quiet, and quite coy. These blend together to
create an overview. He's got traits shared by both though. He's
social, cold when angry, loves beauty and poetry, and a romantic.
Grell has a very feminine demeanor, to the point where he crossdresses
when he can, and even refers to himself using feminine pronouns (as in
calling himself and actress.) He's quite the perfectionist, wanting to
see things through to the end, and has little patience for people that
he views as fickle. Grell has a tendency to disregard the rules if
they get in the way of his interests. He has no regret when taking
down the opposition, be it a physical or mental battle.
He's an actress through and through, able to lie with ease and
disguise himself. Hidden from the world is a sadistic side with a
penchant for schemes and murder, the more blood spilled the better. He
has absolutely no sorrow when he kills, believing it's better for the
world.

TIMELINE: A little while after his capture by the shinigami.
BACKGROUND: (Alright, a little clarification. This is drawn
mainly from the manga, but I had to create a bit of the end because
they never talk about what happens to him after the Madame Red
incident.)

London, late 1888: The time of the London social season, beloved by
all who attend it. It is also the time of Jack the Ripper, the
notorious serial killer who was never found. The time that Grell
Sutcliffe came to the human world to bestow havoc on England.

Grell was one of the shinigami, death gods. His job was merely to
transport souls to the realm of the dead and judge whether or not
people on his list would be left living or not. But that all changed
one night. While going to collect a soul, he witnessed why he had to:
a beautiful red-haired woman viciously stabbing a prostitute to death
and cutting out her uterus. The blood from the murder was all over
her, on her hair, clothes and face. The red , being his faovirte
color, attracted him, and he carefully listened to her thoughts and
understood why she did that. The prositute had been the woman's
patient for an abortion, and she was twisted with jealousy, wanting to
be able to have a child like any other woman. Unfortunately, she
couldn't, as she had been in an accident and her uterus had been
removed. Watching the prostitutes casually abort their babies had
infuriated her, and she couldn't stand it. Feeling the same longing
for a child that could never be, Grell sympathized with the woman. He
revelaed himself to her, complimented her on a job well done, and
offered to help her complete her vengance.

The woman, whose name was Angelina Barnett (but more popularly known
as Madame Red) accepted the offer, and he became her butler as his
cover. Dying his hair black and changing his glasses, he was able to
create the illusion of a mild-mannered, somewhat incompetent man with
no hints to his true identity. He assisted her in her murders,
creating alibis for her and breaking the laws of the shinigami to kill
the ones she wanted dead. During this time, the murders were
attributed to "Jack the Ripper". Then Angelina's nephew Ciel
Phantomhive showed up, along with his butler Sebastian. Ciel was
ordered by the Queen to solve the Jack murders, and Sebastian was
going to help him. For Grell, it was love at first sight when he saw
Sebastian. Though he couldn't reveal his feelings, he harbored a
secret crush on him.

At a party they all attended, Grell was sent out to go kill another
woman. He did so, knowing Ciel's suspicions lay on a certain human,
making it easier for him to go kill the woman. After that, there was
one more woman left on Madame Red's list. He went to go kill her, but
he was surprised on his way out by the appearance of Ciel and
Sebastian. They were holding stakeout outside the woman's home, and
caught him as he left. He tried to deny it, but it was futile.
Abandoning care, he revealed himself as the shinigami he was,
admitting he'd been captivated by Madame Red and that was the reaosn
why he helped her. She herself appeared at that moment, intending to
take down Ciel. Grell went to take down Sebastian, who quickly stopped
his blows with his shinigami scythe (which was actually illegally
modified into a chainsaw). Ciel ordered Sebastian to capture him and
Madame Red, and Grell distracted him from attacking her by flirting
with Sebastian. (While fighting, no less. O_O) Angelina, on the other
hand, was just about to kill Ciel when she hesitated, seeing her
sister in his face. Grell was exasperated with her, watching her
falter after killing so many, and easily killed her, expressing his
disappointment in her actions and taking her red coat off her back to
wear himself, as she was not fit to wear red. He began to walk away,
but Sebastian came after him on Ciel's orders.

They began a beautiful fight, with Grell adding some sort of poetic
phrase every now and then. Sebastian was extremely put off by Grell's
flirting, and continued to aim to kill. Grell was having actual fun
while fighting, eventually comparing the two factions of demons and
shinigami and his and Sebastian's relationship to the story of Romeo
and Juliet. He ended up cutting Sebastian, and wanted to view his
memories through the shinigami's power of Cinematic Record. He was
disappointed when he realized that nothing was interesting recently,
given the fact that Sebastian had been at Phantomhive Manor for the
past year. During his distraction, Sebastian somehow recovered and
jammed Grell's chainsaw with his coat. Taking advantage of the
situation, Sebastain came up to Grell, who was now defenseless, and
beat him up severely. After that, he got the coat out of the chainsaw
and was about to use it to kill Grell, when someone appeared and
stopped him. That person was William T. Spears, a fellow shinigami
sent to collect Grell and take him back to the shinigami to be
punished for his crimes of killing people not meant to be killed and
using his illegally modified scythe. He dragged Grell back to the
shinigami headquarters, where they took away his scythe and put him in
solitary confinement as punishment.

ABILITIES:
Static: Grell has the strength and speed of a shinigami, as well as
extraordinary reflexes, above-average endurance, and a talent for
blades.

Unlockable: There are two major ones. The first is known as Death
God's Scythe. With this, he can summon his shinigami scythe into
existence. It actually takes the form of a chainsaw that can cut
through anything, except something like itself. It takes concentration
to summon the scythe, and he can't move while summoning it. This would
be unlocked either through an intense fight or a memory crystal.

The second requires that his scythe be unlocked. It is known as
Cinematic Record. This ability allows Grell to view a person's
memories if they are cut with his scythe. (In the series, this was
because shinigami would view memories and decided whether to let a
person live or not). However, given the environment of Edensphere, he
would only be able to view the memories the person themselves would be
aware of, and in limited senses (only seeing and hearing). This would
be unlocked through training or a crystal.
